Title
60 and 80 gallon sizes are added to the Chilled Water Buffer Tank lineup.
Body
Both tanks include a center baffle plate to ensure proper mixing of the system water. Some small tonnage chillers have shorter water loops with lower water volumes, resulting in less stable temperature control. Ensuring that sufficient water volume is available increases the thermal mass within the system. This promotes stable water temperature control increasing system reliablity by reducing compressor cycling. Minimum water volume recommendations are typically three (3) gallons per ton for air conditioning and six (6) gallons per ton for process systems where temperature control accuracy is critical. Preferred volumes range from 5.0 to 8.0 gallons/ton for air conditioning and 7.0 to 11.0 gallons/ton for process systems.
The standard design for the 60 gallon size, 20" diameter x 50" overheads, includes two 3" FNPT system connections, a 3/4" vent and a 1" drain fitting.
The standard design for the 80 gallon size, 24" diameter x 48" overheads, includes two 3" FNPT system connections, a 3/4" vent and a 1" drain fitting.
NPT, flanged, and grooved-end connections in alternate sizes are available upon request.
